In February, many pests survive winter by hiding indoors or through overwintering life stages. While cold temperatures reduce visible activity, spiders move into warm utility spaces, rodents seek shelter, and cold-tolerant pests remain active. Winter doesn’t eliminate pests, it changes where they live.

Wasp queens overwinter in protected spaces throughout the winter. Hiding in cracks, eaves, and wall voids, they remain dormant until temperatures rise. Late winter in when these queens begin to reappear and start new colonies.
